I think I may have a little baby fever after holding baby Parker.
Even though Ilsa( my second daughter)is only 10 months old, the feeling of holding a baby that can’t squirm out of your arms and looks at you so inquisitively leaves me yearningto hold my own new born baby… Call it a motherly thing( Do men experience this?).For Parkers pictures, his mom Melissa wanted me to come to her house which I’m obvioulsy a huge fan of. If I have one thing to say to any woman who is going to have a baby( and I know this from experience), take pictures of your children when they are this young. The younger the better, I like when they’re 1-2 weeks old. If you wait too long, they lose that “infant/newborn” look. You want to get them when they’re sleepy and when they’re still flexible enough scrunch them up in different positions. If you have reservations about having someone come into your house daysafter you’ve had they baby, try to put them aside. You only get one chance to get these kinds of shots. Have the photographer come to your house so you canstay in your p.j’s and relax while we get our shots. We understand that you’re recovering from having a child. Don’t worry about the state you think your house is in( again I speak from experience!)We don’t even see that. We’re looking for good window lighting…not how tidy your house is! Moving forward! Here are a few shots from the shoot.

What a way to end the year..shooting an awesome wedding in Halifax on New Years Eve! I had so much fun at this wedding…The guests that shared in the celebrations were such a fun crowd who packed the dance floor and lasted til the end of the night and you know by looking at these pics that they had as much fun as I did! We started the day out at the Alexander Keith’s brewery which is amazing, because of the rain we shot indoors , then we headed back to the Atlantica hotel for the ceremony and festivities.
For those brides who are on the fence about shooting the bride/groom pics before the ceremony, I highly recommend it! Shannon and Dave went for this option and thats the way I scheduled my own wedding, and its just nice knowing that after the ceremony, you get to spend time with your guests and you get to relax and enjoy yourself. When I got married, my groom me me at our shooting location and I was still able to capture the excitement and tears from seeing eachother for the first time dressed as bride and groom! That’s just my 2 cents, to each their own
On to the pics!

I had the pleasure of shooting a halloween wedding this year and it was awesome! You have to go big or go home when doing a theme wedding and this bride did just that! The details were awesome…from her werewolf shoes to his cufflinks…her purse and his ascot tie..which I had never even heard of until this wedding, and I have to mention her dress, which was just beautiful. The show stopper for me was the huge wall display( or mural) at the supper, I have never seen anything like it before and it definitely impressed everyone that I spoke with( there is a picture of in on the blog).
This couple are so much in love and were so much fun on their big day! I know they have many happy years ahead of them filled with many funtimes

I finally got to meet my new nephew Ryan. He was born in August and they made it home for thanksgiving and he is beyond adorable. We’re not used to boys in our family so it was such a delight when we found out Shelley was having a boy, we just couldn’t believe it….now that we’re used to the fact that she has a boy, it’s like he was apart of the family all along! I can’t wait to see him and my niece Daphnee again

I was very excited about this shoot! 3 girls, who are sisters and the perfect age for pictures. Perfect elements for a good photoshoot….I’m a little biased tho having 2 girls myself..ha! One of my favorite parts about this job is meeting new people. It’s an awesome thing to meet up with people that you don’t know and do the most intimate thing for them, capture emotions of their loved ones. It leaves me with the most rewarding feeling when I get home after a shoot. Here are a few shots from the shoot…

This post is huge! But I can’t help it, there were so many pics to choose from that I couldn’t pick just a few. Kelly and amauyaq and their little girl Lana Jane are from the Rankin Inlet( I apologize if I got that wrong!) and got married in Cape Breton because Kelly parents are from the Cape( as is a ton of family) and I’m sure they have a ton of other reasons for getting married here. For this couple, I can tell that they love being surrounded by family and kids( alot of people flew here for their day). Kelly’s dad included alot of stories in his speech which I loved and there were some tears of coarse. So brace yourself for the pictures, cause there are a ton!

Mya and Eric were in Cape Breton visiting their grandparents( thei mom is from Point Aconi) and this is my second time shooting for their mom Allison. A couple of years ago I shot family pics for them before Eric arrived and now that he’s here, she wanted some updated pics of them with their grandparents. How cute are these children?!

Emma and Ryan were visiting Cape Breton as they do every year with their parents and grandparents( who happen to be great friends with us and my parents) and I love taking their pics…Emma is a little model..a total poser and ryan is so funny…he’s serious, but they take awesome pcis together, but that’s boys and girls for ya! Girls LOVE to have their picture taken…anywho, it was a pleasure as always, looking forward to next year!
