Cory and Julia tied the knot on july 10th…and what a hot day it was…but we got through it and got some great pics! Alot of the time when it’s super sunny out, well it’s not the weather of choice that’s for sure…but depending on where you’re shooting, it can be an added bonus, colors pop and make the pics look almost whimsical..with an almost overexposed look…which i just love! We shot their pics at the beautiful Annfield Manor and then after the supper we treked to the beach for some more pics. The sun was still powerful at the beach but I think we made out ok…hope you like!
This is just a sneak with a full blog post to come in a couple of days.

Sherisse( the blonde lady in the pics) emailed me wanting some pics of her kiddies and some with her kids and their cousins( they were visiting from Ontario). So we went to her house and just bummed around the yard and did some shots…these were shot early in the morning before it was too hot and before the sun was too powerful. I really love these pictures…I really love shooting children…I love catching them off guard and catching them in the moment, being themselves :)

Emily is brand new( 2 weeks old when these pics were taken) and I couldn’t believe how strange I found it to hold a brand new baby…I still have a hard time believing my baby was once that small! I didn’t do much retouching to these pictures because I didn’t want to cover up her newness( it that a word??lol)…I just adore how new she is! There is a second part to this shoot to stay tuned..

This wedding was the first of a few out of town weddings for me this year. Brian and Erin were married in beautiful Amherst, Nova Scotia and did it ever rain! I actually haven’t had a day like this for a wedding since my sister got married 4 years ago…so everything had to be shot in the church but we still had an awesome time shooting.. a great day was had by all and everyone had a blast( as you can tell from a few of these shots) and at the end of the day what matters most is that Brian and Erin were married, rain or shine.

Mia and her mommy came to Cape Breton last month for a visit with her nanny, who happens to be great friends with my mom. So, while myself and my little girl Finley were visiting Mia and her mom, I took some super cute shots! The first one is Finley and Mia…so cute, Finley can’t wait for her new friend to come back in august!

Jason and Kyle’s mom contacted me wanting to get some family photos done before Jason went back overseas for work. Brenda being a proud mom wanted some pictures of the boys with their guitars and if I remember correctly, Jason sent a guitar home to Kyle and then got one for himself, which I thought was a really nice story being that now, the guitars are a pair and not only being brothers but they’re friends too, it’s just a great thing to have in common with your sibling..I know from experience( my dad was a professional photographer…he’s since retired.) that it creates a bond that is unexplainable.
This was a 2 part shoot, we did family pics one day, because of this awful Cape Breton weather I really wanted to go outside for the pics of them with their guitars so, hoping for a nice day( thankfully we go one!) we went to the George’s River bridge for the second part of our shoot. I’m shooting a wedding in Amherst this weekend so the second half of the shoot will be in the next posting

This is the second half of Isabella’s photo shoot. This time we went to her house for some more pictures and she is one gorgeous beauty. Kid pics are one of my favorite branches of photography…I love capturing a time in their youth, it’s wonderful to look at the pictures and see how much they’re grown. Isabella was born prematurely and to see her now you wouldn’t believe it, her mom showed me the hat she wore in the hospital and it was so tiny, I think my daughter’s doll has a hat the same size! I kid you not… and now she could go head to head with my 15 month old. They really do grow up fast.
